Ducts & Indoor Air Quality · North Georgia

Clean air, end to end.

From a leaky duct trunk to a whole-house UV purifier, we work the part of HVAC most people forget about — the network and the air itself. Duct cleaning, install, and repair, plus dehumidifiers, UV, and premium media filters.

The system inside the system

Your AC works only as well as the duct it pushes through.

A 16-SEER condenser pushing through a leaky, undersized return is just an expensive box. We work the whole air-handling path — supply, return, plenums, takeoffs, and registers — so the system you paid for actually performs at spec.

Most duct fixes are quick — a re-tape and seal job, a re-route around joists, or a single new run to a starved room. Some need a full re-zone. We diagnose and quote it before any tin gets cut.

Sub-services

Air-handling, end to end.

Duct cleaning

Supply, return, and main-trunk cleaning with mechanical agitation and negative-pressure capture. We don't sell a "blow it out and call it good" service — actual particulate removal.

Duct install & repair

New runs to under-served rooms, leak sealing on existing trunks, plenum replacements, register and grille work. Static-pressure verified before sign-off.

Whole-house dehumidifiers

Wired into the air handler, sized for square footage, and ducted into supply. Solves the "AC off + still muggy" problem without running the cooling for humidity alone.

UV purification

Coil UV lights run continuously to keep the evaporator coil and drain pan biologically clean. Air-stream UV adds a second pass. Long-bulb, low-maintenance hardware.

Premium media filters

4- and 5-inch high-MERV media cabinets that replace the 1-inch grille filter. Capture more particles, change less often, and run longer between service.

Static-pressure balancing

Many homes run too much static pressure for the equipment they have. We test, identify the bottleneck, and fix it — usually a return undersized at the start.

Why IAQ matters here

North Georgia summers are humid. The duct sees all of it.

Humidity, pollen, dust, and pet dander all funnel through the same network. Fix the duct and the air handler, and the rest of the system runs cleaner, lasts longer, and pulls less wattage.

How it works

Four steps from "this room feels off" to fixed.

1

Walk the system

Air handler, plenum, trunks, returns, and registers — checked in order.

2

Test

Static-pressure read, airflow at registers, humidity, and filter pressure drop.

3

Quote

Flat-rate scope in writing. Cleaning, repair, or hardware add-on — your call.

4

Install

Sealed, balanced, and verified with a final airflow check.

Ducts & IAQ questions

Before you call.

How often should ducts actually be cleaned?

Most homes don't need cleaning every year. Triggers we look for: visible mold near vents, after a major renovation or fire damage, after rodent activity, or noticeable particle accumulation on registers. Otherwise the cycle is closer to every 5–7 years.

Will a UV light actually do anything?

Coil UV is the strongest argument — it keeps the evaporator biologically clean, which extends equipment life and prevents drain-pan microbe buildup. Air-stream UV is a softer benefit. We're honest about which one earns its cost.

What's the difference between a whole-house dehumidifier and just running the AC longer?

The AC removes moisture as a byproduct of cooling — so on cool, damp days it stops running before it dehumidifies. A whole-house dehumidifier runs on its own. The result: lower humidity without over-cooling the house.

Do you do leak-sealing or just full replacement?

Almost always leak-sealing first. Full replacement is the last option — it's expensive and usually unnecessary. A good Mastic and foil-tape seal job recovers most lost airflow.

What size media filter cabinet should I get?

Depends on your air handler and current static pressure. We measure first. Going from a 1-inch grille filter to a 4-inch media cabinet is almost always an upgrade; going to 5-inch is system-dependent.
